Atlanta's Opera nightclub was the scene of a shooting Thursday that left one man injured just before R&B singer Trey Songz was due to perform, reports Allhiphop.com.

According to Atlanta police, two black males were involved in a heated argument which escalated into gunfire inside the venue, which is located at 1150 Crescent Street in Midtown.

The victim, 29-year-old Carl Edwards Green, II, was shot in the abdomen and taken to Grady Memorial Hospital, where he is listed in stable condition, the Web site reports.

Trey Songz was preparing to take the stage when shots rang out at about 9 p.m. The invitation-only event, hosted by Atlanta radio station Hot 107.9, drew some 400-500 fans as one of several “Welcome to Atlanta” functions taking place Thursday in conjunction with the BET Hip-Hop Awards.

Following the shooting, three individuals were seen fleeing the scene in a black H2 Hummer, reports Allhiphop.com. While early reports stated that JT Money was one of the three, police would not confirm his involvement as of press time.
