The consolation for the singer, whose battles with drug addiction have become increasingly public, is that she was arrested in Norway, where a liberal stance on the drug has meant the matter is already resolved.

The Rehab singer, her husband Blake Fielder-Civil and an unnamed British man were arrested last night at a hotel in Bergen in southwestern Norway, where Winehouse is currently on a European tour, after a tip to the police.
